19 of Medvedev's twenty-one victories have been won on hardcourt
A resurgent Medvedev won his first title for 882 days with success over opponent Moutet in the Almaty Open title decider.
The Russian, a ex- number one, has experienced a torrid year, achieving just one win at the major tournaments and undergoing a meltdown at the US Open.
His inconsistency on the ATP Tour - and struggles with his service game in especial - resulted in him exiting of the top ten and eventually separating with former coach Cervara.
Now training with Johansson and Goetzke, Medvedev has steadily advanced in the past month - climaxing in a closely contested three-set victory over Frenchman Corentin Moutet.
It is Medvedev's first championship after the 2023 Rome Masters and initial on a hard surface since that period of 2023.
Success also signifies the Russian has achieved twenty-one victories at 21 distinct competitions.
"This marks the first occasion I have attended a event with my two daughters together, so to win a championship is especially meaningful," commented tennis professional the champion.
"This victory is in honour of my second daughter Victoria, because the maiden victory I achieved when my child Alisa was born was for her."
The tennis star, the former major winner, had lost his previous six title deciders, including in that event in the past months.
His retrieving play style and regular reactions on court had prompted observers to wonder if his skill to compete at the top level was concluded.
But the 29-year-old has made changes in recent weeks, striving to come to the net and compete positively, supported by an enhanced service.
He recovered from a disadvantage in the initial set against the challenging Moutet, securing four of the last five points to gain the advantage.
The competitors exchanged break points in the second set before Moutet, bidding for his maiden professional title, took control to push for a decider.
He defended 4 initial chances in a competitive third set before the champion broke to that score to close out the victory.
Appropriately, the winner secured the title with a shot at the net area, with his opponent unable to manage a shot after a lengthy match.
